Erythritol is a calorie-free sweetener.
It has a low glycemic index and has minimal effect on blood sugar levels, so it is excellent for people with Diabetes and anyone who lives a healthy lifestyle.
It looks very similar to sugar in the form of small crystals. Erythritol is only 30% less sweet than sugar and is probably the most similar alternative to sugar.
Chemically it belongs to polyols. Polyols have no energy value, and are found naturally in some fruits and fermented foods. It is produced from glucose by yeast fermentation.
Use erythritol instead of white sugar to sweeten all kinds of foods and drinks. Instead of one teaspoon of sugar, use 1.5 teaspoons of erythritol.
